LISBARNET
Replacement dwelling in a rural setting beside an existing lake.
The contemporary design of the house takes advantage of the sun, the view over the lake but also provides privacy from the main road. The house is flooded with light for most of the day.
The double height entrance space is impressive with a feature fireplace, and also acting as a gallery space. Bespoke timber sliding doors separate a more intimate private lounge/dining space with stunning views over the lake.
Some work was carried out to clean the lake and now it is home to significant bird life.
Materials include Bangor Blue slate roof, Krend to walls, granite heads and cills and contemporary granite paving.
This property featured on BBC NI House of the Year 2011.
